Kalamazoo forced a second championship game with a 4-2 win over Adrian Friday afternoon, scoring single runs in the eighth and ninth innings in the victory. Jordan Wiley led Kalamazoo with a 2-for-5 game with two runs, while Mitch VanKoevering went 2-for-2 with two runs and two walks. Ryan Orr retired the side in the ninth for his third save of the season.
A five-run third by Adrian broke open the game as the Bulldogs won the 2017 MIAA Baseball Tournament title with an 8-3 victory over Kalamazoo. Highlighting the inning was a two-run RBI single by Gunner Rainey. Tristin Richardson was unblemished at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI; Rainey finished with a 3-for-4 effort and three RBI.
