KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) celebrates six of its men's soccer student-athletes who earned spots on the 2024 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Region VIII Team. Representing the conference with excellence, Calvin University and Hope College each had three players recognized for their outstanding performances this season.
First Team
- Cole Pauly, Hope: Senior defender Cole Pauly kept the Flying Dutchmen's opponents to just 13 goals throughout the 20 matches that he played and started in. Pauly also added five assists and one goal during his 1,693 minutes of playing time. He was named the 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Player and is a three-time All-MIAA selection.
- Alex White, Calvin: Fifth-year senior forward Alex White led the Knights with 17 goals and six assists over 22 contests and 1,602 minutes played. White became a two-time All-MIAA honoree this season with a spot on the First Team.
Second Team
- Jacob Goodling, Calvin: Senior defender Jacob Goodling helped the Knights hold their opponents to just 28 goals over 22 matches. In 1,903 minutes played, Goodling also scored four goals for Calvin. He received all-conference honors for the first time in his career this season as a First Team All-MIAA selection.
- Daniel Hesselbein, Hope: Senior goalkeeper Daniel Hesselbein started in the net for all 20 games. He totaled 61 saves and only allowed 13 goals for a save percentage of .824. Hesselbein added 14 wins and three ties to his career record and became a two-time All-MIAA honoree this season.
- Seth Walters, Hope: In starting all 20 contests this season, sophomore forward Seth Walters led the Flying Dutchmen with 12 goals. He also contributed two assists in 1,480 minutes played. A spot on the All-MIAA First Team made Walters a two-time all-conference selection in 2024.
Third Team
- Xtreme Hauk, Calvin: Freshman forward Xtreme Hauk was the runner-up on the Calvin squad with eight goals in his inaugural season. He also totaled three assists in his 1,297 minutes played. Hauk was selected as the 2024 MIAA Freshman of the Year and received a spot on the All-MIAA First Team.
These honors highlight the depth of talent in the MIAA and the commitment of its student-athletes to excelling on the field and beyond. The MIAA congratulates these six exceptional players on their well-deserved recognition.
