FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Following the conclusion of the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, the league’s six head coaches selected the 2025 All-MIAA honorees.
Hope College senior Sara Kraus became a three-time MIAA Most Valuable Swimmer after leading the Flying Dutch to their fifth-consecutive conference title. The four-time All-MIAA honoree opened the championship meet as the second leg of the winning 800 free relay (7:28.02). She then contributed as the lead-off swimmer in the record-breaking 400 medley relay (3:44.43) and the 200 medley relay (1:41.02). Individually, Kraus claimed victories in the 400 IM (4:25.66), the 100 back (55.25), and the 200 back (1:58.29).
Calvin University sophomore Veronica Skipper earned the title of 2025 MIAA Most Valuable Diver after sweeping the competition at the conference meet. Skipper posted a score of 426.10 on the one-meter board and followed with a 415.40 in the three-meter dive. She is now a two-time All-MIAA honoree.
Now in its fourth year, the Senior Impact Award honors swimmers and divers who exemplify the values of the MIAA and Division III through excellence in the classroom and their communities. This year, Alma College’s Megan Neeley was selected as the recipient.
Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Accounting with anticipated departmental honors, Neeley is a distinguished scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta. Throughout her collegiate career, Neeley has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, maintaining Dean’s List status for seven semesters and earning the President’s Cup for academic excellence. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom as a Presidential Scholar and an active participant in the Alma Honors Program, where she engages in community-focused projects and plans to present an honors thesis in 2025. She is also conducting an accounting thesis analyzing trends in 21st-century accounting fraud, with a pending presentation at a Chicago conference.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Neeley has been a key leader on the Alma swim and dive team, serving as a three-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll recipient, a CSC Academic All-District honoree, and the 2024 recipient of the Todd A. Harburn Award for academic and athletic excellence. As a team captain, she plays a vital role in fostering team unity and coordinating community outreach efforts. Beyond athletics, Neeley has made a lasting impact as Editor-in-Chief of The Almanian, guiding a team of writers and editors to produce high-quality campus publications. Her leadership extends to the Student Advancement Association, Alpha Xi Delta, and multiple volunteer initiatives, including environmental stewardship efforts and local community service. With a passion for academic excellence, leadership, and service, Megan Neeley exemplifies the spirit of the Senior Impact Award.
Calvin’s Maggie Farrell is now a five-time All-MIAA honoree. Alongside Kraus, classmate Grace Wesley, Knight Sydney Sonday, and Albion College’s Hannah Fathman and Mattie Smith each earned All-MIAA honors for the fourth time in their careers. Hope’s Greta Gidley, Katie Hermann, Lauren Ryle, and Laurel Wasiniak received all-conference recognition for a third time, while Skipper, teammate Emma Merkel, and Hope’s Norah Martin are now two-time all-league selections.
