FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Calvin University's Bill Sall has been named the 2025 MIAA Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year after leading the Knights to a historic season.

Under Sall’s leadership, Calvin has dominated the competition, riding a 20-game winning streak en route to capturing the 2025 MIAA Men’s Basketball Tournament championship. With the title, the Knights secured the league’s automatic bid into the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament, marking the program’s 24th appearance on the national stage. This tournament championship is Calvin’s first since 2017, further cementing the Knights’ resurgence under Sall’s guidance.

"Super proud of our team's effort and consistency this year," commented Sall. "Our coaching staff has been incredible! Very thankful I get to be around these amazing people everyday."

Currently ranked fifteenth in the nation, Calvin has showcased remarkable consistency and discipline throughout the season. Sall, now in his sixth season at the helm, has built a program defined by excellence, a standard he knows well as a graduate of Calvin himself. His ability to develop players and instill a winning culture has been evident, particularly this season.

Three Knights earned spots on the 2025 All-MIAA Teams, a testament to the team’s depth and talent. Headlining the selections is Uchenna Egekeze, who was named the MIAA Most Valuable Player while also securing his third consecutive Defensive Player of the Year honor.

With momentum on their side, Sall and the Knights now turn their attention to the NCAA Tournament, where they aim to make a deep run and continue their impressive season.
