Ten MIAA Programs Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors for Fall 2025

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) was well represented among the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams announced for the Fall 2025 semester.

In total, the CSCAA recognized 709 teams from 414 institutions nationwide, representing 16,421 student-athletes, for their outstanding academic performance. This distinction is the highest academic honor awarded by the CSCAA and is presented by Fitter & Faster Swim Camps, celebrating programs that excel in the classroom while competing at the highest levels of collegiate athletics.

To qualify for Scholar All-America recognition, teams were required to post a cumulative team grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the Fall 2025 semester, demonstrating a sustained commitment to academic excellence alongside competitive achievement.

Five MIAA institutions earned Scholar All-America honors on both the women’s and men’s sides.

On the women’s side, Kalamazoo College led the conference with a 3.47 team GPA under head coach Brie Powers. Calvin University followed closely with a 3.44 GPA coached by Dan Gelderloos, while Hope College posted a 3.42 GPA under head coach Jake Taber. Alma College recorded a 3.39 GPA with Chris Hamstra at the helm, and Albion College rounded out the honorees with a 3.19 GPA under head coach Eric Murray.

The MIAA men’s teams were highlighted by Kalamazoo’s conference-best 3.56 team GPA. Albion earned recognition with a 3.35 GPA, while Hope posted a 3.27 GPA. Alma finished with a 3.20 GPA under Chris Hamstra, and Calvin earned Scholar All-America honors with a 3.15 GPA coached.

The strong academic showing by MIAA swimming and diving programs reflects the conference’s continued emphasis on the Division III philosophy of excellence in both academics and athletics.
