FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Hope College once again stood atop the conference landscape in 2025-26, capturing the MIAA Commissioner’s Cup for the 42nd time in program history.
Awarded annually based on cumulative performance across 18 of the MIAA’s league-sponsored men’s and women’s sports, the Commissioner’s Cup recognizes sustained excellence throughout the academic year. Hope secured this year’s title with 150.5 points and completed a dominant campaign by also claiming both the Men’s and Women’s All-Sport Championships.
The Flying Dutch and Flying Dutchmen built their championship season through consistent success across every season of competition. Hope finished the year with seven outright regular-season championships and one co-championship while repeatedly placing near the top of conference standings.
On the men’s side, the Flying Dutchmen captured the Men’s All-Sport Championship with 75 points. Hope claimed regular-season titles in cross country, soccer, swimming and diving, and lacrosse while demonstrating remarkable depth across the department. The Flying Dutchmen finished among the top three in ten of the eleven men’s sports they sponsor.
The Flying Dutch matched that standard on the women’s side, earning the Women’s All-Sport Championship with 75.5 points. Hope collected regular-season championships in volleyball, swimming and diving, and tennis while sharing the lacrosse title. The Flying Dutch showed consistency throughout the year, recording top-three finishes in ten of their eleven sponsored sports.
Calvin University finished second in the overall Commissioner’s Cup standings with 144.5 points after another strong all-around campaign. The Knights totaled six outright conference titles and one co-championship during the academic year and remained in contention throughout the season.
Trine University placed third with 127.5 points, supported by three outright conference championships and strong performances across multiple sports.
