HOLLAND, Mich. -- Hope College women’s tennis continued one of the most dominant championship streaks in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) history, winning the 2026 MIAA Women’s Tennis Tournament Presented by Collegiate Credit Union for the 14th-consecutive season.
After completing a perfect 8-0 conference regular season to earn the tournament’s top seed and a first-round bye, the Flying Dutch once again proved unbeatable in postseason play, defeating Kalamazoo College in the semifinals before sweeping Calvin University in the championship match.
Hope opened tournament action with a 4-1 semifinal victory over Kalamazoo, quickly establishing control through doubles competition. Hadley Krygier and Kaitlyn Stievater delivered a commanding 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles over Molly Stevison and Peja Liles, while Mallory Matthews and Phoebe Walker secured a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles against Daryn Krause and Soussana Kimbouris to give Hope the opening point.
In singles play, Jana Beier dominated at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Eleni Bougiukou. Sophia Grzesiak added another decisive win at No. 4 singles, defeating Stevison 6-1, 6-2, while Madison Wei earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 6 singles over Liles.
In the championship match against rival Calvin, Hope elevated its performance even further, shutting out the Knights 4-0 to secure another tournament trophy.
The Flying Dutch once again seized momentum in doubles, as Krygier and Stievater earned a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles over Tessa Holman and Julia Hooker. Matthews and Walker followed with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles against Rachel Grissom and Sabrina Lopez to secure the doubles point.
Amanda Lopykinski led the way in singles, earning a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles over Marina Riberio. Krygier remained dominant with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles versus Ryan Morey, while Grzesiak won 6-2, 6-2 over Hooker at No. 4 singles.
Throughout the tournament, Hope showcased the same formula that has defined its dynasty — dominant doubles play, depth throughout the singles lineup, and consistent championship composure.
The title extends Hope’s remarkable run to 14-straight MIAA Women’s Tennis Tournament championships, reinforcing the Flying Dutch’s longstanding status as the conference standard.
With the tournament crown secured, Hope advances to NCAA postseason competition with momentum and championship experience once again on its side.
