KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) was well represented in the classroom as 35 men's basketball student-athletes and six conference programs earned recognition in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2025-26 academic awards.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball student-athletes who completed the 2025-26 academic year with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award honors programs that achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the academic year.
The NABC annually recognizes academic excellence across all levels of collegiate men's basketball. More than 2,300 student-athletes earned Honors Court distinction, while more than 400 programs received Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2025-26 academic year.
Six MIAA institutions sponsoring men's basketball earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award: Albion College, Alma College, Calvin University, Hope College, Kalamazoo College and Trine University.
The Knights led the conference with nine NABC Honors Court selections, followed by Hope with six and Albion, Alma and Kalamazoo with five apiece. Trine placed four student-athletes on the Honors Court.
