KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Five women's soccer programs and four men's soccer programs from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were recognized with the 2025-26 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, highlighting the academic success of MIAA student-athletes both on and off the field.
A total of 801 soccer teams nationwide—338 men's and 463 women's programs—earned the Team Academic Award after posting a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year. Of those, 187 schools had both their men's and women's soccer programs recognized.
Among MIAA women's soccer programs, Adrian College, Albion College, Alma College, Calvin University, and Saint Mary's College earned the distinction. Alma posted the highest team GPA among the MIAA women's honorees at 3.58, followed by Adrian at 3.55, Albion at 3.51, Calvin at 3.48, and Saint Mary's at 3.42.
On the men's side, Albion, Alma, Calvin, and Hope College were recognized. Albion recorded the highest GPA among the MIAA men's programs at 3.49, followed by Hope at 3.50, Alma at 3.40, and Calvin at 3.27.
The recognition continues a strong tradition of academic achievement among MIAA soccer programs, showcasing the commitment of student-athletes to excellence in the classroom while competing at the collegiate level.
