Calvin's Nicole Kramer Named Great Lakes Region Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year; All-Region Announced 11/21/2024 3:30:00 PM Share: NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is represented by ten student-athletes who earned All-Region honors in the 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country season. Additionally, Calvin University head coach Nicole Kramer was selected as the 2024 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the Great Lakes Region. All-Region Honorees from the MIAA MIAA runners consistently proved their strength and determination throughout the season, culminating in standout performances at the regional championships. These athletes finished among the top 35 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, earning their rightful place on the prestigious All-Region team: Adrian College: Will Houvener Calvin University: Caleb Gaffner, Thaine Nederveld, Eric Swinson, Luke Witvliet Hope College: Carston Cole, Ian Petruska, Connor Vachon Trine University: Ryan Hoopingarner, Max Van Huis These honorees reflect the depth of talent in the MIAA, showcasing the conference’s ability to compete among the best in the region. Nicole Kramer Named Great Lakes Coach of the Year A special highlight for the MIAA this season is the recognition of Nicole Kramer as the 2024 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year. Kramer, head coach of the Knights, led her team to an extraordinary season, marked by remarkable consistency, strategic excellence, and an inspiring sense of camaraderie. Under Kramer’s leadership, Calvin finished first at the Great Lakes Regional Championship, earning her team a spot in the 2024 NCAA Division III Championships. Her ability to develop young talent and foster a culture of excellence has earned her this well-deserved honor. Kramer was previously selected as the 2024 MIAA Cross Country Coach of the Year for both men's and women's. Up Next The 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is hosting the championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. Along with Calvin's automatic bid into the championship, Hope received an at-large bid to compete on Saturday. Trine's Max Van Huis also punched a ticket to the national event after a strong regional performance.
