FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced its Athletes of the Week for the period covering November 3-9. Each week throughout the academic year, the conference recognizes standout performances from student-athletes across its member institutions.
The MIAA Athlete of the Week honors are selected from nominations submitted by head coaches at each school. These awards spotlight the top individual efforts in competition and showcase the high level of play within the conference.
Selections are released every Monday at 4:00 p.m., with the exception of weeks impacted by federal holidays.
MIAA Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week - Seth Logan, Adrian College
Senior guard Seth Logan turned in a standout weekend performance for the Bulldogs, averaging 22 points and 7.5 rebounds over two games. In the win against Oberlin, Logan delivered in the clutch, going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final minute and knocking down two critical three-pointers to help secure the victory. He also pulled down eight rebounds in that contest and added seven more against Franciscan. Across the weekend, Logan totaled six made threes and shot an impressive 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. His all-around effort and timely playmaking were key factors in Adrian’s success.
MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week - Leah Richards, Hope College
Sophomore forward/center Leah Richards put together an outstanding weekend, averaging a double-double in two games against nationally-ranked opponents Wisconsin-La Crosse and UW-River Falls. Richards was highly efficient offensively, shooting 13-for-20 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line while totaling 33 points and 20 rebounds over the two contests. In addition to her strong offensive performance, she took on the challenge of guarding each opponent’s top scorer both nights, making a major impact on both ends of the floor.
MIAA Football Offensive Athlete of the Week - Noah Beaudrie, Adrian College
Senior quarterback Noah Beaudrie led the Bulldogs to a 44-21 victory over Trine with an outstanding all-around performance. He threw for 436 yards and added 82 rushing yards, accounting for six total touchdowns—three through the air and three on the ground.
MIAA Football Defensive Athlete of the Week - Liam Karry, Adrian College
Senior linebacker Liam Karry anchored Adrian’s defense in the team’s 44-21 victory over Trine. Karry recorded 10 solo tackles, including a tackle for loss and a sack, while also forcing two fumbles in a dominant defensive effort.
MIAA Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week - Gavin Reames, Hope College
Senior Gavin Reames helped lead the Flying Dutchmen to a 52-0 shutout victory over rival Calvin. He contributed on special teams with one kick return for 23 yards and five punt returns totaling 67 yards.
MIAA Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week - Toby Simeoni, Calvin University
Freshman forward Toby Simeoni assisted the third-seeded Knights to the 2025 MIAA Men's Soccer Tournament title which included a 4-1 win over Albion in the semifinals and a 2-0 shutout versus top-seeded Hope in the championship over the last week. Simeoni scored a goal against the Brits and both goals against the Flying Dutchmen. Overall, Simeoni is second in the league with four game-winning goals and in the top ten with six goals and 15 points.
MIAA Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week - CeCe McCarthy, Calvin University
Senior forward/midfielder CeCe McCarthy led the Knights to the 2025 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament title with a 3-1 victory over Kalamazoo in the semifinals and a 2-1 nailbiter against Hope in the final. McCarthy scored a goal against the Hornets and the game winner against the Flying Dutch to secure the tournament trophy. Overall, she is in the league's top four with four game-winning goals and 1.24 points per game.
MIAA Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week - Zac Moore, Calvin University
Goalkeeper Zac Moore anchored third-seeded Calvin in its MIAA Men's Soccer Tournament domination. Moore totaled four saves over the last week, including one in the semifinals at Albion and three in the shutout at top-seeded Hope. Over 18 games, Moore finished second in the conference with a goals-against average of 1.145 and six shutouts. He was also in the top eight with a .636 save percentage and 1.94 saves per game.
MIAA Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week - Mia Judd, Calvin University
Senior midfielder Mia Judd assisted Calvin to the 2025 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament title by holding the Knights' opponents to just two goals during their postseason run while playing all 180 minutes.
MIAA Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week - Everett Cox, Hope College
Hope competed at the D3 Shootout in Chicago over the weekend, an elite meet featuring 10 schools from nine states across the country, most of which are nationally ranked in both of the latest polls. Sophomore Everett Cox carried a heavy workload for the Flying Dutchmen, posting impressive results in all four of his individual events. Three of his freestyle performances currently rank in the NCAA Division III top 20 — 46.05 in the 100 freestyle (20th), 1:40.45 in the 200 freestyle (10th), and 4:38.85 in the 500 freestyle (13th). His fourth event, the 200 butterfly, leads the MIAA with a time of 1:54.51. Cox also contributed to Hope’s 800 freestyle and 200 freestyle relays, which currently rank eighth and 12th in Division III, respectively.
MIAA Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week - Claudia Busse, Hope College
Hope competed at the D3 Shootout in Chicago over the weekend, an elite meet featuring 10 schools from nine states across the country, most of which are nationally ranked in both of the latest polls. Freshman Claudia Busse was a relay standout for the Flying Dutch, swimming in five relays and one individual event. In her lone individual swim, the 50 freestyle, she recorded a time of 23.61 — the ninth-fastest mark in Division III this season. Busse also led off the 800 freestyle relay in 1:52.29, the 10th-best 200 freestyle time nationally, helping the relay earn the No. 2 national ranking. She contributed a 23.16 split on the second-ranked 200 freestyle relay, clocked 24.88 on the fly leg of the third-ranked 200 medley relay, and anchored the fifth-ranked 400 medley relay with an impressive 50.11 split.
MIAA Men's Diving Athlete of the Week - Jeremy Romero, Albion College
Senior Jeremy Romero swept both diving events on Friday and Saturday versus Davenport and Manchester, winning the one-meter and three-meter boards each day. On Friday, Romero scored 230.47 on the one-meter and 195.30 on the three-meter. He improved those marks on Saturday, posting 244.95 on the one-meter and 231.20 on the three-meter to complete a dominant weekend performance.
MIAA Women's Diving Athlete of the Week - Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru, Albion College
Junior Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru swept both diving events on Friday and Saturday against Davenport and Manchester, winning the one-meter and three-meter boards each day. She scored 241.35 on the one-meter Friday and improved to 279.33 on Saturday. On the three-meter, Wadsworth-Curcuru posted scores of 283.50 and 293.50, respectively. Her Saturday performances also set new school records on both boards.
MIAA Volleyball Player of the Week - Caroline Carens, Saint Mary's College
Junior middle hitter Caroline Carens recorded 30 kills over the week with only nine errors on 60 swings for an impressive .350 hitting percentage—40 points higher than her season average. She totaled 36.5 points, averaging 3.75 kills and 4.56 points per set. In the must-win match against Olivet, Carens was unstoppable, posting a career-high 21 kills while hitting .410. She also added six blocks, finishing with 24.5 points, 4.7 points per set, and 4.2 kills per set.
MIAA Volleyball Specialist of the Week - Molly Edmunds, Albion College
Sophomore setter Molly Edmunds guided the Brits to back-to-back sweeps, earning a 3-0 victory at Saint Mary’s followed by another 3-0 win at Adrian. She helped the team post hitting percentages of .261 and .236, respectively, while totaling 69 assists and 29 digs over the two matches. Edmunds recorded a double-double in both contests, showcasing her consistency and all-around impact on the court.
MIAA Wrestling Athlete of the Week - Cade Odrobina, Albion College
Cade Odrobina made an impressive senior season debut by going a perfect 5-0 and capturing first place in the 133-pound bracket. Odrobina was dominant throughout the day, earning bonus points in two matches and finishing with a team-high 20.0 points. He opened with a narrow 6-5 decision over Olivet’s Trenden Bashore, followed by another close 2-1 decision against Manchester’s Kaleb Salazar. Odrobina then rolled through the next two rounds with major-decision victories over Julian Rojas of Rochester (12-0) and Lane Karsten of Wisconsin–Stevens Point (13-1). In the championship bout, he secured the title after Manchester’s Adrian Origel was forced to withdraw due to injury.
