MIAA Athletes Ready to Compete at NCAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) will be well represented at the NCAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships, set for March 14-15 at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York. Hosted by Nazareth University and the Rochester NY Sports Commission, the event will bring together the nation's best collegiate athletes, with MIAA competitors ready to leave their mark.

Sprint Events
Albion College’s Will Davis will showcase his speed in two events, qualifying as the eighth seed in the 60-meter dash (6.77) and the 13th seed in the 200-meter dash (21.80). Hope College’s Liam Danitz is also set for a strong showing in the 200-meter dash, entering as the fourth seed with a time of 21.59.

Distance Events
Calvin University’s Luke Witvliet secured his place among the nation’s top distance runners, qualifying as the 20th seed in the 5000-meter run with a time of 14:25.51.

Field Events
The University of Olivet’s DeVondre Chandler will take on the nation’s best in the high jump, entering the competition tied for the eighth seed with a mark of 2.07m.

Owen Fremeau of Olivet has earned a spot in two throwing events. He is the 11th seed in the shot put (16.95m) and the 14th seed in the weight throw (18.88m), aiming for strong performances in both.

Heptathlon
Trine University’s Ethan Spahr qualified in the heptathlon, ranking 15th with 4,918 points. He will compete in a grueling two-day, seven-event test of versatility and endurance.
