Scott Lokers Earns MIAA Men's Golf Coach of the Year as Dutchmen Claim MIAA Crown

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Hope College head coach Scott Lokers has been named the 2025 MIAA Men's Golf Coach of the Year after leading the Flying Dutchmen to their 24th MIAA championship in program history.

In his eighth season at the helm and after previously serving as a volunteer assistant under former head coach Bob Ebels, Lokers guided Hope to a standout campaign, culminating in a season scoring average of 294.17 across league play. The Flying Dutchmen capped the regular season with a victory at the MIAA Spring Finale, carding a two-day team score of 604 (302/302).

Under Lokers' leadership, four Hope golfers earned All-MIAA honors: two were named to the First Team after placing in the top six of the overall standings, and two more earned Second Team recognition by finishing among the top 12.

"Coaching a college golf team is truly a great privilege," stated Lokers. "Being part of the MIAA allows me to get to know amazing coaches, athletes, and parents. Having the support of the Hope College community—great leaders who inspire me every day—is so encouraging. And having the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with players and parents is one of the great joys of my life."

Hope's balanced and consistent play earned the team the MIAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships, with selections to be announced on May 12. The national tournament will take place May 20-23 at the Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York.

Lokers' Coach of the Year award reflects the strength, depth, and competitive drive he has cultivated in the Hope program, positioning the Flying Dutchmen for continued success on the national stage.
