NORMAN, Okla. -- Eleven student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were recognized among the nation’s top performers both in the classroom and on the course as the 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars were announced.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate’s degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
This year, 207 NCAA Division III athletes from 80 schools earned the honor, with the MIAA boasting representation from five member institutions.
Adrian College placed three golfers on the list with Cameron Bozyk, Christian Long, and Joe Renfer earning recognition. Calvin University also had three honorees in Jackson Glanzer, Jack Marzolino, and Matt Turcotte. Hope College added two honorees with Liam Casey and Hank Roebuck. Kalamazoo College’s Emiliano Alvarado Rescala earned the distinction, while Trine University rounded out the MIAA selections with Colin Crumrine and Carter Schnipke.
The recognition highlights the MIAA’s continued tradition of excellence, as its student-athletes balance the demands of competition while excelling in their academic pursuits.
