HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Hope College women’s lacrosse team left no doubt in their 2025 MIAA Tournament run, delivering back-to-back commanding performances en route to their third-consecutive conference championship. The top-seeded Flying Dutch rolled past Adrian College 21-4 in the semifinals before cruising to a 21-5 win over Trine University in the title game, securing the MIAA’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Now 13-5 overall, Hope showcased its offensive firepower and defensive tenacity throughout the tournament. Leading the charge was junior attacker Julia Brown, who netted 12 goals over the two games. Her eight-goal, 11-point explosion in the championship tied her for second-most goals and first-most points in a single MIAA tournament game. She also tallied seven assists, matching senior teammate Kerrigan Brown for the tournament lead in that category.
Senior attacker Juli Kirkpatrick added eight goals of her own across the semifinal and final, giving Hope another reliable scoring threat. On the defensive end, junior Caroline Curnutt disrupted opposing attacks with five caused turnovers, while junior Caleigh Randall led the midfield with nine draw controls in the semifinal win over Adrian.
In goal, junior Samantha Smith provided a steady presence with nine saves over the two tournament games, anchoring a defense that allowed just nine goals in total.
The 2025 title is Hope’s third straight and reaffirms the Flying Dutch’s place atop the MIAA. With a potent mix of talent, balance, and postseason experience, Hope now turns its attention to the NCAA Tournament stage, ready to take its dominance national.
