Hope's Mackenzie McMahon Honored Nine Times in College Sports Communicators Creative and Digital Design Contest

Mackenzie McMahon, Hope College's sports information coordinator, placed in nine categories in the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Creative and Digital Design Contest, including a 1-2 finish in the Best of Division III category for game notes.

Founded in 1957, College Sports Communicators is a 4,400-plus member national association for strategic, creative and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. 

The 2024-25 CSC Creative and Digital Design Contest tallied 2,160 total entries, including 1,230 entries from the College Division and 930 entries from the University Division. Judging is done by news media and communications professionals who use those publications in their work. 

The College Division features all NCAA Division II and Division III schools, NAIA schools, Canadian institutions, two-year colleges and high schools.

McMahon placed in five categories in the College Division:
  • 2. Game Notes, Football;
  • 4. Game Notes, Women's Basketball;
  • 5. Major Awards and Championships Graphics (Volleyball's Eva Hartung, NCAA Elite 90 graphic);
  • 13. Special Projects (Volleyball and Football Top Dogs infographic); and
  • 15. Posters (Women's Lacrosse schedule).
In Best of Division III, McMahon placed in four categories:
  • 1. Game Notes, Football;
  • 2. Game Notes, Women's Basketball;
  • 2. Major Awards and Championships Graphics (Volleyball's Eva Hartung, NCAA Elite 90 graphic); and
  • 6. Special Projects (Volleyball and Football Top Dogs infographic).
McMahon has worked in sports information at Hope since October 2021.
