MIAA Men’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes, Teams Recognized for Academic Excellence by USILA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is proud to announce that five men’s lacrosse student-athletes and six MIAA men’s lacrosse programs have earned prestigious academic honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) for the 2025 season.

Scholar All-American Honors

The USILA Scholar All-American program recognizes senior student-athletes who have excelled both on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, a student-athlete must be nominated by their coach, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and display exemplary character and sportsmanship. Additionally, honorees must be an All-American, a member of the North/South team, or an outstanding player within their conference.

The following MIAA student-athletes were named USILA Scholar All-Americans:

  • Sam Spangler, Adrian College

  • Andrew Miller, Albion College

  • Josh Gage, Calvin University

  • Jack Bungart, Kalamazoo College

  • Collin Custer, Trine University

Team Academic Awards

In addition to individual recognition, the USILA also honored men’s lacrosse programs for their commitment to academic excellence. Teams achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher earned the USILA Team Academic Award.

Six MIAA men’s lacrosse programs met this standard for the 2025 season:

  • Adrian College

  • Albion College

  • Calvin University

  • Hope College

  • Kalamazoo College

  • Trine University

The MIAA congratulates these outstanding student-athletes and programs for their dedication to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
