Four men's basketball players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were recognized by D3hoops.com with 2025-26 All-Region 7 honors, highlighted by Calvin University senior center Jalen Overway being named Region 7 Co-Player of the Year.
Players were nominated for the awards by Sports Information Directors from institutions across the country. A total of 797 student-athletes were nominated nationwide before ballots were distributed to select SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players within their region. The 2025-26 season marks the 25th year that D3hoops.com has recognized All-Region teams.
Student-athletes named to the All-Region teams are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams, which will be announced next week.
Calvin’s Overway earned both Region 7 Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-Region recognition after another dominant season for the Knights. A two-time All-MIAA selection, Hovey earned First Team honors in 2026 after being named Second Team All-MIAA in 2025.
Junior guard Nathan Richardson of The University of Olivet collected Second Team All-Region recognition, becoming just the fifth men's basketball player in program history to be named to the D3hoops.com All-Region teams. Richardson, the 2026 MIAA Defensive Player of the Year, averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while shooting .519 inside the arc and .375 from three-point range. His performance helped lead the Comets to a 15-11 overall record and a 12-2 conference mark, securing Olivet’s first outright MIAA regular-season title since 1972. Richardson is also a two-time All-MIAA honoree and became the first Olivet player to earn the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award since the honor was introduced.
