National Glory: MIAA Women Capture All-America Recognition in Indoor Track & Field

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Several student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) earned national recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following standout performances at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Birmingham, Alabama.

Athletes who finished in the top eight of their respective individual events and relays were awarded First-Team All-America honors, while those who placed ninth through 16th individually and ninth or 10th in relay events received Second-Team All-America recognition.

Calvin University

Calvin highlighted the MIAA’s national presence with two individual national champions and an additional relay earning All-America recognition.

Senior Sophie Bull captured the national title in the 3000m run, crossing the finish line in 9:32.19 to secure First-Team All-America honors. Bull’s championship performance capped a dominant indoor season and added another national accolade to her career.

Senior Sydney Radigan also stood atop the podium for the Knights, winning the 60m dash with a time of 7.52. Radigan doubled up on First-Team All-America honors by finishing second in the 200m dash with a time of 23.80.

Calvin also earned Second-Team All-America recognition in the distance medley relay, which placed 10th with a time of 11:52.79. The relay squad consisted of Alison Bailey, Sophie Bull, Peyton Ludwig, and Emma Wierenga.

Hope College

Hope senior Sara Schermerhorn delivered a standout performance in the sprint events, claiming the national championship in the 400m dash with a winning time of 54.41. Schermerhorn added another First-Team All-America honor by finishing eighth in the 200m dash in 24.79.

Flying Dutch senior Molly Durow secured Second-Team All-America recognition in the mile, finishing 15th overall with a time of 4:53.49.

Trine University

Trine was represented on the national stage by senior Bailey Puckett, who earned First-Team All-America honors after finishing seventh in the mile with a time of 4:50.06.

The performances highlighted a strong showing for the MIAA at the national meet, with multiple conference athletes reaching the podium and several others securing All-America status against the nation’s top Division III competitors.
