FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Hope College head coach Keagan Pieri has been named the 2026 MIAA Women’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year after leading the Flying Dutch to another championship-filled season.
Pieri guided Hope to a 6-1 conference record and a share of the MIAA regular-season title, while also securing the program’s fourth-consecutive MIAA Tournament championship. The Flying Dutch enter NCAA postseason competition with an impressive 14-3 overall record as they prepare to face Aurora on Friday, May 8, at 1:00 p.m. Central.
Under Pieri’s leadership, Hope once again showcased its depth and talent across the field. Six players earned All-MIAA honors this season, including four First Team selections and two Second Team honorees. The Flying Dutch were led by two-time MIAA Most Valuable Offensive Player Julia Brown and MIAA Most Valuable Defensive Player Caroline Curnutt, whose standout performances helped fuel Hope’s championship success.
Since taking over as head coach in June 2019, Pieri has continued to elevate Hope women’s lacrosse into one of the MIAA’s premier programs, building a culture centered on accountability, resilience, and sustained excellence.
“I’m really honored to receive this, but this award belongs to our staff and the girls on this team," commented Pieri. "What people see on game day is just a small part of the true story. They showed up every day, worked when no one was watching, pushed through moments of adversity, held each other accountable, and loved each other when it was tough.”
Pieri’s recognition reflects not only the Flying Dutch’s success on the scoreboard but also the strong foundation she has established within the program. As Hope begins its NCAA Tournament journey, the team will look to continue its championship momentum on the national stage.
