Kalamazoo’s Riley Named 2026 MIAA Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Kalamazoo College head coach Mark Riley has been named the 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year after leading the Hornets through another undefeated and championship-filled conference season.

Riley guided Kalamazoo to a perfect 7-0 league record, securing the program’s seventh-consecutive MIAA regular-season title and seventh-straight MIAA Tournament championship. With the tournament title, the Hornets earned the league’s automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Tournament.

Kalamazoo will continue its postseason journey in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where the Hornets will face WashU on Saturday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m.

Under Riley’s leadership, three Kalamazoo players earned All-MIAA recognition this season, including 2026 MIAA Most Valuable Player Cameron Crosby. The team’s individual honors further highlighted the program’s depth, consistency, and high level of performance throughout the season.

A 1982 Kalamazoo graduate, Riley has served as head coach since June 2007 and has continued to build on the program’s storied tradition as one of Division III’s premier tennis powers. His long-standing leadership has helped sustain Kalamazoo’s dominance within the MIAA and beyond.

“I’m flattered to be selected as the 2026 MIAA Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year," commented Riley. "I thank our athletic administration led by Jamie Zorbo, Katie Miller and Kathleen White, who go out of their way to help our team feel valued. Of course, success doesn’t happen without our student athletes and I stay proud of their accomplishments on and off the court.”

Riley’s latest honor reflects both his enduring commitment to excellence and Kalamazoo’s continued championship standard as the Hornets prepare to compete on the national stage once again.
