MIAA Women's Cross Country Programs Compete in 2024 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's cross country programs competed in the 2024 NCAA Great Lakes Region Championship on Saturday, November 16, at the Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Kalamazoo College senior Paige Anderson, the 2024 MIAA Women's Cross Country Champion, was the first runner from the conference to cross the finish line at 21:31.34 for the runner-up position. Junior Sophie Bull of Calvin University was next to finish with a third-place time of 21:42.79.

Trine University juniors Sidney Swick (22:13.56) and Bailey Puckett (22:20.04) finished back-to-back in eleventh and twelfth place, respectively, while senior Knight Natalie Tebben claimed thirteenth place with a time of 22:21.51.

Thunder junior Eleanor Young was the next MIAA runner to finish with a time of 22:42.45 for 21st place. Calvin sophomore Hailey Erickson was 22nd after crossing the finish line in 22:43.62. Kalamazoo freshman Ava King (22:46.61) and Trine junior Chloe Goodrich (22:47.67) finished back-to-back in 24th and 25th, respectively. Freshman Knight Ellia Agar also finished in the top 30 with a time of 22:52.37.

Senior Maddy Struck of Hope College clocked in at 22:53.96 for 31st place and was followed by Calvin senior Jenna Allman in 33rd place (22:55.66).

Albion College senior Olivia DeGraaf (41st - 23:08.77), Trine senior Anna Parker (45th - 23:14.69), and freshman Hornet Nora O'Leary (50th - 23:19.79) all finished in the top 50.

The Knights concluded the NCAA Regional meet in second place with 94 points, followed by Trine in third place with 109 points, Kalamazoo in tenth place with 232 points, and Hope in thirteenth place with 343 points. Alma College (660 points), Saint Mary's College (666 points), and Albion (795 points) all finished in the top 30, with Adrian College concluding the meet in 34th place (1022 points) and The University of Olivet in 37th place (1064 points).

The NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship selections will be released on Sunday, November 17, at
www.ncaa.com.
