HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Nate Thompson as the new Baseball Coordinator of Officials.
"I am very excited for the opportunity to work with the MIAA, the coaches, and the universities," commented Thompson. "I am looking forward to developing the umpires working within the league and recruiting new umpires, while maintaining professionalism throughout the conference. This is a great opportunity and I am eager to get started!" Thompson stated.
Thompson brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role. His impressive background includes:
- 22 years of umpiring experience
- 6 years in professional baseball
- 13 years in NCAA baseball, including Division I, II, and III levels
- Regular involvement in umpire development camps across Michigan and the Midwest
