FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- The Alma College football team capped a dominant fall by securing the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Football Championship, finishing the regular season with a perfect 7-0 conference record to claim the outright title. The Scots sealed the championship in dramatic fashion on November 15, earning a 35-34 home victory over Adrian College to complete their undefeated run through the league.
Alma’s success was fueled by one of the most efficient and explosive offenses in the conference. The Scots totaled 315 points across seven league games, averaging 45 points per contest, and finished with 44 touchdowns. The ground attack powered the way with 1,945 rushing yards, complemented by 1,810 passing yards. Defensively, Alma posted 17 sacks for 90 yards, collected 13 interceptions for 162 return yards, and forced seven fumbles to round out a complete team effort.
Senior running back Eddie Williams was a centerpiece of the Scots’ offensive firepower. Williams surpassed the 1,000-yard mark with 1,009 rushing yards and scored 16 rushing touchdowns while adding four receiving touchdowns. He averaged 144.1 rushing yards per game and totaled 120 points on the season. With 234 receiving yards included, Williams finished the regular season with 1,243 all-purpose yards.
Senior quarterback Carter St. John orchestrated a balanced and efficient offense, completing 105 passes on 157 attempts for 1,617 yards and 20 touchdowns. He posted a pass-efficiency rating of 187.8 while also contributing 183 rushing yards, bringing his total offensive output to 1,800 yards.
Senior wide receiver Zach Poff emerged as one of the league’s most productive deep threats, recording 20 receptions for 582 yards and eight touchdowns for 48 points. Junior return specialist Alfonso Gray III added a spark on special teams with five kick returns for 180 total yards. Senior punter Brice Kempf played a key field-position role with 12 punts for 460 yards, placing four inside the 20-yard line. Defensively, junior linebacker Jett King led the Scots with 25 solo tackles, 22 assists, and two interceptions.
With the championship secured, Alma heads into the NCAA postseason with an overall record of 8-2. The Scots receive the MIAA’s automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Football Championship. The NCAA Division III selection show is scheduled for Sunday, November 16, at 5:00 p.m.
