FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- At the conclusion of the 2024-25 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) wrestling season, head coaches from the conference's five wrestling-sponsoring institutions voted on All-MIAA awards.
Adrian College junior Aiden Smith was selected as the 2025 MIAA Most Valuable Wrestler after going undefeated (4-0) in league competition at 157 pounds. This is the first time in his career that Smith is earning All-MIAA recognition.
Albion College’s CJ Krum has been named the 2025 MIAA Senior Sportsman of the Year, a well-deserved recognition for his leadership, dedication, and impact both on and off the wrestling mat. A four-year team captain, Krum played a pivotal role in reviving the Briton wrestling program, earning multiple NWCA Scholar All-American honors and receiving an All-Conference nod. Beyond athletics, he has been an influential figure in the Albion community, serving as the college’s first NCAA Division III SAAC Representative and spearheading numerous community outreach initiatives. His efforts in organizing events such as SAAC clinics, the Winter Carnival, and Big Brothers Big Sisters activities highlight his commitment to service. With an unwavering dedication to his team, academics, and community, Krum exemplifies the essence of the MIAA Senior Sportsman of the Year award.
The University of Olivet's Tyler Herrema and Dylan Phelps both became three-time All-MIAA honorees this season. Adrian's Tyler Davis and Olivet's Benyamin Kamali each received all-conference accolades for the second time in their careers.
