Three MIAA Women's Basketball Standouts Named to D3hoops.com All-Region 7 Team

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is proud to announce that three of its standout women's basketball players have been named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 7 Team for their outstanding performances during the 2024-25 season.

First Team Selection: Sidney Wagner, Trine University
Senior guard Sidney Wagner of Trine University has been named to the All-Region 7 First Team following a remarkable season. Wagner, the 2025 Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year, earned her third consecutive All-MIAA honor while leading the Thunder to an undefeated 16-0 conference record and an overall mark of 25-4.

Wagner concluded the season as the conference leader in multiple statistical categories, including:

  • 185 field goals

  • 468 points (16.1 points per game)

  • 188 defensive rebounds

  • .477 field-goal percentage

  • 77 steals

Third Team Selection: Anna Fernandez, Calvin University
Junior guard Anna Fernandez of Calvin University was named to the All-Region 7 Third Team after a stellar campaign. A 2025 First Team All-MIAA honoree, Fernandez played a crucial role in leading the Knights to their first MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament title in eight years. She helped Calvin achieve an 11-5 league record and an 18-11 overall record.

Fernandez ranked among the top five in the league in several key offensive categories, finishing with:

  • 157 field goals

  • 45 three-pointers

  • 415 total points

Third Team Selection: Jada Garner, Hope College
Hope College senior guard Jada Garner also earned a spot on the All-Region 7 Third Team, capping off an impressive career with the Flying Dutch. A two-time All-MIAA selection, Garner helped lead Hope to a strong 14-2 conference record and an overall mark of 21-5.

Garner showcased her scoring ability and efficiency, ranking in the top five in the league with:

  • 78 made free throws

  • .757 free throw percentage
