FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Hope College continues to lead the 2024-25 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Commissioner’s Cup race following the conclusion of the winter season.
The Commissioner’s Cup recognizes the cumulative performance of each member school across the league’s 23 sports—11 women’s and 12 men’s. Each institution’s top-eight finishes per gender contribute to the final standings. The winter update includes results from seven men’s and six women’s sports.
During the winter season, Hope College secured the outright MIAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship title. The Flying Dutch also finished as runners-up in women's basketball and placed third in men's basketball, men's indoor track and field, and women's indoor track and field. These achievements earned Hope 46 points for the winter season, bringing their total to 94.5 points for the academic year.
Calvin University remains in a close second place with 94 points, bolstered by MIAA titles in men's basketball, men's swimming and diving, and women's indoor track and field. Trine University holds third place with 82.5 points, highlighted by first-place finishes in men's indoor track and field and women's basketball.
Albion College ranks fourth with 75 points, benefiting from a second-place finish in wrestling and a third-place finish in women's swimming and diving. Alma College has moved into fifth place with 52 points, narrowly leading Adrian College, which sits at 51.5 points.
The University of Olivet climbed to seventh place with 45.5 points, thanks to an MIAA title in wrestling. Kalamazoo College follows with 44.5 points, while Saint Mary's College rounds out the standings with 13.5 points from women's sports.
