Adam Haldorson Earns Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year Honors After Guiding Calvin to the MIAA Title

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Calvin University’s Adam Haldorson has been named the 2025 MIAA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year after leading the Knights to their first conference championship title since 2017.

In his third season as head track and field coach, Haldorson guided Calvin to a standout performance at the MIAA Women's Indoor Championships. The Knights captured four individual event titles while also securing five runner-up finishes in individual events and one second-place relay, demonstrating the team’s depth and competitiveness.

“The team has been performing well all indoor season yet found a way to raise the bar even higher for the conference championships!" commented Haldorson. "It really stands as a testament to their hard work and dedication this year"

Haldorson’s leadership has propelled Calvin back to the top of the MIAA, earning him recognition from his coaching peers across the conference. His strategic approach and commitment to athlete development have revitalized the Knights’ women’s program, culminating in a long-awaited championship victory.

Haldorson stated, "Our staff did a great job helping to prepare the team for the meet and it was very rewarding to see the women win and take a big step towards the level of competitive excellence that is expected at Calvin University. This award honors our whole coaching staff and all our support personnel; we have a great group of people that have been putting in a ton of hours to help make this happen. A big thank you to the MIAA for naming us as the staff of the year.”

Calvin’s season continues as the team competes at the Wartburg Last Chance meet in Waverly, Iowa, on March 7-8, looking to qualify additional athletes for the national stage. The NCAA Championship selections will be announced on Sunday, March 9, with the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships set to take place March 14-15 at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York.
