NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Women’s track and field programs and student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were recognized on the national stage for their academic and athletic accomplishments as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2025 All-Academic Athletes and Teams.
Sixteen individuals from across four MIAA institutions earned All-Academic Athlete honors, awarded to student-athletes who maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average while also achieving top competitive marks during the season.
Albion College’s Tess Anthony represented the Britons on the list. Calvin University celebrated four honorees in Jenna Allman, Sophie Bull, Sydney Radigan, and RyAnn Rohrer. Hope College led the league with six student-athletes recognized: Frances Cozzens, Molly Durow, Catherine Leahy, Sara Schermerhorn, Ava Schmidt, and Jasmine Zimmerman. Trine University added five more names with Halle Overmire, Bailey Puckett, Abby Sanner, Sidney Swick, and Eleanor Young all earning national distinction.
In addition to individual awards, all seven MIAA women’s track and field programs were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. Calvin University posted the highest team grade-point average in the conference at 3.68, with Alma College close behind at 3.67. Hope College followed at 3.647, while Trine University recorded a 3.615. Adrian College (3.5), Albion College (3.49), and The University of Olivet (3.49) also earned recognition.
The awards highlight the conference’s tradition of pairing competitive excellence with high academic achievement, showcasing the ability of MIAA student-athletes to perform at the highest levels in both the classroom and on the track.
