Top Honors Announced for 2025 MIAA Women’s Tennis Season

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- At the conclusion of the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women's tennis regular season, head coaches from nine of the MIAA's member institutions that sponsor women's tennis voted on All-MIAA awards.

Hope College junior Amanda Lopykinski earned MIAA Most Valuable Player for the second-straight year after leading the Flying Dutch to the regular-season title with a perfect record of 8-0. Lopykinski went 7-1 in conference matches at No. 1 singles and undefeated (8-0) at No. 1 doubles with partner Sullivan Moran. She became a three-time All-MIAA honoree this season with a spot on the First Team and was named the MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week two times.

Ivy Walker, a senior at Kalamazoo College, has been named the recipient of the Sue Little Award. This honor is given in memory of Sue Little, a 1954 graduate of Albion College and conference singles champion. The winner of this award is selected by the tennis players as best exemplifying courtesy and sportsmanship both on and off the courts.

“I am thrilled that the MIAA has selected Ivy Walker as the 2025 Sue Little Award Winner," commented Kalamazoo head coach Mark Murphy. "The Sue Little Award is a very special award given to the MIAA women’s tennis player that plays with the highest level of sportsmanship, and it also is selected by the players themselves. For these reasons this makes this award very unique. Ivy Walker is very deserving of this award. She is a great competitor and plays with the utmost respect for her opponents and the game of tennis. I can’t think of a better Kalamazoo women’s tennis player to end the 44-year drought of winning this award than Ivy.”

Saint Mary's College senior captain Alayna Campbell was voted the 2025 Karen Caine Award honoree. This scholar-athlete honor is named after Karen Caine, former long-term women's tennis coach at Adrian College.

Campbell exemplifies the spirit of the award through her exceptional dedication to athletics, academics, and community service. A Nursing major with a Biology minor and a remarkable 3.83 GPA, Campbell has thrived in one of the college’s most demanding programs. On the tennis court, she has been a cornerstone of the team, competing at No. 1 doubles and in the top two singles positions all four years, earning All-MIAA honors four times. As a two-time team captain, she has amassed 113 career wins—never missing a match across 185 straight contests—and has helped lead the program to its most successful four-year stretch since the early 2000s. Her academic and athletic excellence has earned her repeated recognition as an ITA Scholar-Athlete and MIAA Honor Roll member. Beyond her sport, Campbell has served on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, completed over 300 unpaid clinical hours in diverse care settings for underserved populations, and worked in the neo-natal ICU at St. Joe Hospital. A member of the Saint Mary’s Student Nursing Association and a former resident assistant, she has also balanced multiple jobs during the academic year and summers. Alayna’s leadership, resilience, and service embody the values of this distinguished award.

"I have witnessed Alayna being an amazing student-athlete," Saint Mary's head coach Dale Campbell remarked. "She has been dedicated and extremely reliable not only in the classroom and nursing clinicals but also with her teammates and coaches. She shows up every day, and will be incredible in her profession! Striving to set a high standard has equipped her to serve and lead others."

Along with Campbell, Hope's Sullivan Moran also became a four-time All-MIAA selection this season, while Lopykinski and Calvin University's Tessa Holman received their third nod to All-MIAA Teams. Adrian College's Claire Earley and Hye Jin Elliot, Kalamazoo's Juliana Pullen, Saint Mary's Emma Kealy, and Trine University's Elina Locane are receiving all-conference accolades for the second time in their careers.
