After serving as the Interim Head Coach for 2025, Albion baseball's
Matt Rix has been officially named the Head Coach of the program. Rix spent 12 seasons as an assistant on the staff before his interim role this season.

Rix led the Britons to a 17-19 record this season, including a 10-11 mark in conference play. Ending the season on a high note, Rix led Albion to their first series victory over Adrian since the 2006 season.

"I'm excited for Coach Rix to take the lead of Albion baseball into the future," said Athletic Director,
Jennifer Rushton. "Matt did a wonderful job this year in an interim role and has laid a solid foundation for future success. His passion for Albion College and our student-athletes is apparent and he has earned the opportunity to be our head coach."

Under Rix's direction, Albion had two players land on All-MIAA teams.
Cole Giesige, a First Team selection, broke his own single-season strikeout record (76) and Evan Schuster received Second Team accolades for the second straight year.

"I would like to thank
Jennifer Rushton and President Wayne Webster for this opportunity to allow me to continue what we've started this season with Albion baseball," said Rix. "I'm excited to continue leading a tremendous group of guys that share the same goals as I do."
