Hope Women’s Tennis Extends Reign with Third-Straight MIAA Championship

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Excellence continues to define Hope College women’s tennis, as the Flying Dutch completed a perfect 8-0 run through Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play to capture the 2026 regular-season championship.

The title marks Hope’s third-consecutive MIAA crown and an impressive 31st in program history, further solidifying its place as one of the most successful programs in league history. The Flying Dutch enter postseason play with a 14-5 overall record and the No. 1 seed in the MIAA Women’s Tennis Tournament Presented by Collegiate Credit Union.

Hope’s championship campaign was fueled by consistency across the lineup, with standout performances at every position. Senior Amanda Lopykinski led the way at the top, posting a 7-1 record at No. 1 singles while matching that mark at No. 1 doubles.

Sophomore Hadley Krygier delivered a near-perfect season, finishing 7-1 at No. 2 singles and an unblemished 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. Freshman Jana Beier made an immediate impact with a 6-1 record at No. 3 singles, while also contributing in doubles play. Fellow freshman Sophia Grzesiak was dominant at No. 4 singles, going a perfect 8-0, and added a 3-0 record at No. 1 doubles.

With depth and balance throughout the roster, the Flying Dutch controlled matches from top to bottom, rarely allowing opponents to gain momentum during conference play.

Now, Hope turns its attention to the MIAA Women’s Tennis Tournament Presented by Collegiate Credit Union. As the top seed, the Flying Dutch receive a first-round bye and will host a semifinal match on Thursday, April 30.

The tournament begins with first-round action on Tuesday, April 28, followed by the semifinals and the championship on Saturday, May 2. The tournament champion will earn the MIAA’s automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament, set for May 18-21 at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
