Calvin’s Haldorson Sweeps 2026 MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year Honors

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Calvin University head coach Adam Haldorson has been named the 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year after guiding both Knights squads to conference championships at the 2026 MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Presented by Collegiate Credit Union.

Haldorson led both programs to title-winning performances in another standout season for Calvin track and field. The men secured their first conference championship since 2019 and their 11th title under the current format, while the women captured their second-consecutive outdoor championship and the program’s 32nd title.

For Haldorson, the recognition marks his second straight MIAA Women’s Outdoor Coach of the Year honor and the first men’s outdoor coaching award of his career. Earlier this season, he was also recognized as both the men’s and women’s MIAA Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year, completing an impressive sweep of conference coaching honors.

Now in his fourth season as head coach, Haldorson has quickly established Calvin as one of the premier programs in the MIAA across both the men’s and women’s ranks.

Calvin’s championship success was fueled by exceptional depth throughout both rosters. Under Haldorson’s leadership, nine women will be named to the All-MIAA First Team, with eight additional athletes earning Second Team honors. On the men’s side, nine athletes will receive First Team recognition while six more will be named to the All-MIAA Second Team.

The Knights will now await the announcement of qualifiers for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, set for May 17. The national championships will take place at Veteran’s Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Haldorson’s dual recognition reflects not only Calvin’s championship pedigree but also his continued impact in building a culture of excellence, development, and sustained success across both programs.
