NORMAN, Okla. -- Fourteen MIAA student-athletes were recognized for their excellence both on the course and in the classroom, earning 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
A total of 261 NCAA Division III student-athletes representing 95 institutions received the prestigious honor. Calvin University led all Division III institutions with six honorees, while the MIAA had student-athletes from five member institutions recognized.
Adrian College's Carter Klawonn, Calvin's Dylan Clark, Ford Erickson, Jack Marzolino, Josiah McClelland, Ethan Tiller and Matt Turcotte, Hope College's Liam Casey, Klay Redman and Will Thomas, Kalamazoo College's Emiliano Alvarado Rescala, and Trine University's Jack Besner, Jake Bilby and Carter Schnipke each earned the distinction.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar consideration, student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds. NCAA Division III nominees must also post a stroke average below 79.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. In addition, recipients must demonstrate high moral character and remain in good standing at their institution.
Calvin's six honorees represented the largest group from any NCAA Division III institution, helping the Knights stand out among the 261 award recipients nationwide. Overall, 29 Division III schools had at least four honorees, while 10 schools had at least five.
The recognition continues a strong tradition of academic and athletic achievement among MIAA men's golfers, highlighting the ability of conference student-athletes to excel both in competition and in the classroom.
