Lauren Bryne-Dunn Promoted to Associate Commissioner of the MIAA

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- Commissioner Chris Brown has announced the promotion of Lauren Bryne-Dunn to the position of Associate Commissioner of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), effective immediately.

"Lauren's promotion to Associate Commissioner is a testament to her exceptional leadership, innovative thinking, and unwavering dedication to the MIAA and our student-athletes," said Commissioner Chris Brown. "Her efforts in enhancing mental health resources, spearheading our website redesign, and consistently elevating our conference operations have been invaluable. As we continue to evolve and grow as a conference, I am confident that Lauren's expanded role will bring fresh perspectives and drive our mission forward. Her promotion strengthens our leadership team and positions the MIAA for continued success in the years to come."

Bryne-Dunn has served as the Assistant Commissioner of the league since August 2020 and was additionally designated as the Senior Woman Administrator in 2022.

In addition to her regular duties within the conference, Bryne-Dunn has been instrumental in providing mental health resources for student-athletes, creating the MIAA Mental Health Resources page and launching "Wellness Wednesdays." She also assisted in the MIAA's rebrand in 2020 and led the league website's switch to SIDEARM Sports in 2024.

In the fall of 2023, Bryne-Dunn was selected by the NCAA to attend the 2023 Division III Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) Program in conjunction with the Women Leaders in Sports Convention. She was also chosen to become an NCAA Division III Inclusive Leadership Workshop Facilitator in June 2024.

Before joining the MIAA, Bryne-Dunn was a Sports Information Graduate Intern at Wayne State University. She has also worked with the Detroit Tigers on the Event Staff and the Detroit Lions on the Gameday Marketing Promotional Team.

In April 2020, Bryne-Dunn graduated from Wayne State University with a Master's Degree in Sports Administration. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2018.
