FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- For the first time since 2006, Hope College men’s soccer stands alone atop the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). The Flying Dutchmen captured the 2025 regular-season championship with a 6-0-1 record, finishing the conference slate unbeaten and earning the program’s 16th overall title. Hope now holds a 10-5-2 record entering postseason play.
Hope’s balance and discipline proved to be its defining traits throughout the season. The team led the MIAA with only three goals allowed while also topping the league with 136 shots and a .870 save percentage. Behind those numbers was a cohesive group that consistently controlled possession, applied pressure, and defended with precision.
Sophomore forward Jackson Mindling fueled the Hope attack, leading the conference with 36 shots, 17 on goal, and two game-winning tallies. Junior forward Seth Walters emerged as the league’s leading goal scorer with six goals and ranked second in the MIAA with 13 points, while Mindling contributed five goals of his own. In goal, sophomore Daniel Morgan was exceptional, leading the league with a .429 goals-against average, a .870 save percentage, and four shutouts.
As the top seed in the 2025 MIAA Tournament, Hope looks to carry its strong form into the postseason. The tournament begins November 1 with the first round, followed by the semifinals on November 5 and the championship on November 8. The six-team field includes No. 2 Albion College, No. 3 Calvin University, No. 4 Adrian College, No. 5 Kalamazoo College, and No. 6 The University of Olivet.
