Trine Captures NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Regional Title in Louisville; Calvin's Bull Wins Individual Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The MIAA turned in an impressive collective performance at the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Regional on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky, highlighted by Trine University’s commanding victory and automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championship.

Trine secured the regional crown with 58 points behind five top-27 finishes, earning the region’s automatic bid to nationals. Bailey Puckett led the Thunder with a fourth-place finish in 22:12.23. She was followed by Chloe Goodrich in sixth at 22:19.28 and Eleanor Young in seventh at 22:23.34, giving Trine three runners in the top 10. Grace Dubsky added a 14th-place time of 22:33.36, while Courtney Study sealed the scoring in 27th at 22:54.30 to complete a dominant team effort.

Calvin University finished second with 91 points, highlighted by an individual regional championship from Sophie Bull, who crossed first in 21:40.85. Hailey Erickson added an eighth-place finish in 22:26.14, and Ayla Holben placed 18th in 22:40.62 as the Knights put two runners in the top 10 and three in the top 20.

Hope College earned third place with 122 points, led by a runner-up finish from Molly Durow in 22:07.01. Mary England placed 20th in 22:42.24, while Dylan Ballin secured a 32nd-place finish in 23:01.23.

Kalamazoo College recorded a 10th-place team finish with 352 points. The Hornets were led by Nora O’Leary, who finished 21st in 22:42.42. Ava King followed in 50th with a time of 23:22.59, and Allison Mayer placed 63rd in 23:37.52.

Saint Mary’s College finished 19th with 525 points. Savannah Paulson led the Belles with a 91st-place time of 24:08.48. Cecilia Conrad finished 101st in 24:23.20, and Jordan Siminski added a 110th-place finish in 24:37.91.

Alma College placed 23rd with 667 points. Sophia Dech paced the Scots with an 85th-place finish in 24:05.65. Chloe Colton followed in 138th at 25:10.72, and Lauren Brawt finished 149th in 25:21.12.

Adrian College took 31st with 830 points. Bridget Waterstradt led the Bulldogs with a 107th-place finish in 24:33.71. Lily Etelamaki crossed in 159th at 25:38.95, and Emma Frost placed 188th in 26:11.98.

The University of Olivet finished 36th with 1074 points. Landry Gomez led the Comets with a 196th-place time of 26:27.99. Abby Dice placed 204th in 26:41.13, and Aubrey Connelly finished 210th in 27:03.32.

Selections for the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championship will be announced on Sunday, November 16. The national championship is scheduled for November 22 and will be hosted by Converse University, Limestone University, and OneSpartanburg, Inc. at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
