Athlete of the Week - December 15, 2025

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced its Athletes of the Week for the period covering December 8-14. Each week throughout the academic year, the conference recognizes standout performances from student-athletes across its member institutions.

The MIAA Athlete of the Week honors are selected from nominations submitted by head coaches at each school. These awards spotlight the top individual efforts in competition and showcase the high level of play within the conference.

Selections are released every Monday at 4:00 p.m., with the exception of weeks impacted by federal holidays.


MIAA Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week - Parker Hovey, Hope College
Junior forward Parker Hovey delivered the best performance of his career in Hope’s 84–74 win over Wisconsin-Platteville, the reigning WIAC champion and a team receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25. Hovey poured in a career-high 29 points while shooting 9-of-14 (.643) from the field and 10-of-12 (.833) at the free-throw line. He also led the Flying Dutch with eight rebounds and drew nine fouls. Hovey currently ranks among the MIAA’s top five in points per game (15.6), field goals (41), points (109), defensive rebounds (41), total rebounds (57), rebounds per game (8.1), field-goal percentage (.547), blocks (12), and steals (12).

MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week - Hannah Sall, Calvin University
Junior forward Hannah Sall recorded a double-double in Calvin's 66-50 victory over Albion on Friday, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She also added three assists and three blocks while shooting 7-of-13 (.538) from the field. Sall currently leads the conference with 28 offensive rebounds and ranks among the league's top five with 65 total rebounds and 21 blocks.

MIAA Wrestling Athlete of the Week - Adrian Rosas, Adrian College
Senior Adrian Rosas posted a perfect 3-0 record at the Berg Holiday Duals in the 125-pound bracket, scoring 15 team points to help the Bulldogs finish 2-1 in dual competition. He opened the weekend with a 9-3 decision over Millikin's Jayden Wiegand, followed by a win by fall at 1:43 against Otterbein's Marcy Olivo. Rosas closed the day with a victory by forfeit in his final matchup.
