ALMA, Mich. -- The 2025 MIAA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships delivered a showcase of elite competition, personal bests, and team-wide excellence, with Calvin University capturing the team title in commanding fashion. The Knights amassed 282.5 points, well ahead of second-place Trine (194) and third-place Hope (147.5), in a meet that saw records fall and team depth shine.
Calvin’s victory was built on a foundation of distance dominance. In the 3,000m steeplechase, the Knights swept the podium, led by Sophie Bull in 10:48.70, followed closely by Jenna Allman (10:49.67) and Ellia Agar, who ran a personal-best 11:11.89. In the 5,000m, Calvin repeated the feat with Allman (17:30.49), Bull (17:30.74), and Natalie Tebben (17:45.29) claiming the top three spots. Tebben also ran personal bests in both the 1,500m (4:36.01, third place) and 800m (2:14.33, runner-up), further highlighting her stellar meet.
The Knights also found success in the field. Lindsey Kossick claimed the hammer throw title with a 45.00m mark, joined on the podium by teammate Mikah Baziun (43.70m). In the discus, Calvin went 1–2–3, led by RyAnn Rohrer’s 42.01m throw, followed by Karen Bekhet (41.88m) and Kossick again (41.66m). Rohrer also added a second-place finish in the shot put (12.89m), with Albion College’s Tess Anthony winning the event at 13.46m. Julienne Strydom contributed in multiple jumping events, placing third in the long jump (5.16m) and second in the triple jump (11.10m), where Jeri Roy of Calvin followed with 10.82m for third. In the high jump, Gabi Kempf and Allison Schram each cleared 1.52m to tie for third.
In the sprints, Calvin’s Sydney Radigan won the 100m dash in 12.01 and added a second-place finish in the 200m dash (24.49 PR), just behind Hope’s Sara Schermerhorn, who clocked 24.28. Calvin’s 4x100m relay team of Mia DeJonge, Julienne Strydom, Jessie Bossenbroek, and Radigan finished third in 48.43, while their 4x400m squad (Bossenbroek, Trinity Kolka, Peyton Ludwig, Emmy Nordbeck) also took third in 4:03.50. In the 100m hurdles, DeJonge earned silver in 15.32, narrowly edged by Trine’s Sophia Peter.
In the 400m hurdles, The University of Olivet’s London Eldridge took the win in a personal-best 1:03.79. Knights Audrey Howell (1:04.82) and Tessa Long (1:06.52) also ran personal bests to claim second and third, respectively. Calvin’s Christy Martin added more points with a second-place throw of 31.69m in the javelin.
Though Hope and Trine earned notable event victories - highlighted by Hope’s record-setting 4x100m relay (47.18) and Schermerhorn’s 400m dash (55.41) and 200m dash wins - Calvin’s unmatched consistency across all event groups proved decisive. With a sweep in the steeplechase, triple podiums in the throws, and crucial points in nearly every discipline, Calvin claimed the 2025 MIAA Women’s Championship with a commanding 88.5-point margin.
