FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- For the second-consecutive season, Trine University women’s basketball stands alone at the top of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings.
The Thunder captured the 2026 MIAA regular-season championship with a dominant 15-1 conference record and will carry a 21-4 overall mark into the postseason. The title is the program’s second straight and seventh in program history.

Junior guard Ally Capouch provided a perimeter spark with a team-high 32 three-pointers, and freshman guard Callie Nichols directed the offense with 42 assists.
With the regular-season crown secured, Trine now turns its attention to the MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Presented by Collegiate Credit Union. As the top seed, the Thunder receive a first-round bye and will host both the semifinals on February 27 and the championship game on February 28.
