FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced its 2026 Men's Tennis All-MIAA award recipients, recognizing exceptional athletic achievement, leadership, academics, and sportsmanship across the conference. Kalamazoo College sophomore Cameron Crosby has been named the Most Valuable Player, Alma College senior Jake Lasceski earned the Dr. Allen B. Stowe Memorial Award, and Trine University senior Sammy Yin received the Dr. Lawrence Green Scholar-Athlete Award.
Most Valuable Player: Cameron Crosby, Kalamazoo
Kalamazoo sophomore Cameron Crosby has been selected as the MIAA Most Valuable Player after helping guide the Hornets to their seventh-consecutive regular-season championship with an undefeated conference record. Competing at the top of Kalamazoo's lineup, Crosby posted a perfect 7-0 mark at No. 1 singles while also going 5-1 at No. 1 doubles alongside partner Alex Fleming.
His consistent success at the conference's highest level played a major role in extending Kalamazoo's dominant run atop the MIAA and reinforced the Hornets' position as one of the region's premier programs.
Dr. Allen B. Stowe Memorial Award: Jake Lasceski, Alma
Alma senior Jake Lasceski has been named the recipient of the Dr. Allen B. Stowe Memorial Award, presented in memory of longtime Kalamazoo professor and tennis coach Dr. Allen B. Stowe. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to team success, leadership, ethical virtues, and sportsmanship.
Lasceski's collegiate career has been defined by excellence both on and off the court. A team captain and top-flight competitor, he has excelled academically while taking on numerous leadership roles across campus. He served as Student Congress President and chaired multiple committees, represented students on Alma's Board of Trustees, held leadership positions within the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as Social Media Coordinator and Vice President, played an active role in Sigma Chi Theta Nu, participated in Business Professionals of America, served as DEI Chair of the Interfraternity Council, and consistently led his team as captain.
Academically, Lasceski has been recognized for maintaining the highest GPA among Alma men's tennis seniors. He earned repeated Dean's List honors, MIAA Academic Elite recognition, and multiple College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections. Beyond campus, he participated in international service through the Posey Global Fellowship in Quito, Ecuador, volunteered extensively through community initiatives, and represented Alma at multiple NCAA Conventions as a student-athlete advocate. His outstanding balance of athletic achievement, academic excellence, leadership, professional development, and service embodies the values of the Stowe Award.
Dr. Lawrence Green Scholar-Athlete Award: Sammy Yin, Trine
Trine senior Sammy Yin has been selected as the recipient of the Dr. Lawrence Green Scholar-Athlete Award, which honors a senior men's tennis player who has lettered for at least two years while demonstrating exceptional academic and athletic achievement.
A Biology major on the Physician Assistant track, Yin has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association and MIAA Scholar-Athlete recognition and landing on the President's List every semester. On the court, Yin established Trine's single-season winning percentage record at 19-2 and compiled an overall singles record of 25-10 and doubles record of 27-7. He was a three-time MIAA Athlete of the Week selection and earned First Team All-MIAA honors in 2024, helping lead the Thunder to their first share of the MIAA title that same season.
Yin's collegiate journey has also been marked by resilience, overcoming multiple injuries and personal challenges while remaining a cornerstone of the program. Outside of tennis, he is heavily involved in Trine's Christian Campus House, where he plays piano for worship services and leads small groups, while also participating in the Physician Assistant Club and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. His combination of academic excellence, athletic achievement, leadership, and perseverance reflects the legacy of Dr. Lawrence Green.
